Almere 2.0 - Main zones

Simulation for the Hyperbody graduation studio designing a transferium for the Almere 2.0 masterplan by MVRDV.


The location and dimensions of the box are found based on population density and potential users in the area.


In this simulation a self organizing agent system of boids is used. These boids represent the required area per function and respond to the site parameters and each other.


The main functions are: trains(white), busses(yellow), park 'n ride and kiss 'n ride(blue).


Each function has it's preferences in relation to site parameters. These parameters include: surrounding functions, amount of wind and sunlight and traffic flows.


Based on the main zones and surroundings the public space is formed. The next step is placing the supporting functions.
